Fretting over a Mammogram? Don’t!
When I turned 40 it was time for the dreaded Mammogram! Let’s just say, I was not looking forward to it at all. I was extremely nervous in the tiny room they had me sit in while I waited anxiously for the technician to call me into the examination room. You can see on my face in the smaller photo how the time couldn’t get there fast enough. When it finally did come, I didn’t know what to expect so I had some nerves, but even though it was uncomfortable at times, that was all. Never hurt once. The relief on my face when it was over is displayed in the second picture shown. The moment of realization that I basically was nervous for nothing, it was easy breezy. Luckily the results were normal, but equally as important is the test established a baseline for future mammograms to help the doctors determine growth or abnormalities.
I urge everyone to take the time to get this done. It is not something to worry about. It is so much better to catch things early than wait for you to notice lumps yourself when, by that time could be too late. #loveyourself enough to get this done. I waited until I was 40 because fortunately, I don’t have a family history of breast cancer in my family. Make sure to talk with your own doctor about when it’s right for you and how often you need to go back for follow up testing. #itcansaveyourlife Feel free to share your own experience with Mammograms in the comments!
